Rha terms of service

Rha is a geospatial research service ("we", "us"). It lets you search places, ask an assistant questions about places, see and analyse public datasets, draw and save maps, and share them. By using Rha at rhaspatial.com or through our API, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Rha.

1. What you can do

You may use Rha to look at maps, run analyses, save and share maps, and export results for your own personal or business purposes, as long as you follow these terms. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service; we don't transfer any ownership of the service or the data in it.

2. What you can't do

Don't:

• copy, scrape, crawl, cache in bulk, or redistribute the maps, tiles, place data or datasets except through the export features we provide, and then only as far as the underlying data licences allow;
• use Rha to build a competing map, geocoding or place-search service, or to train a model on our outputs at scale;
• remove or hide attributions, notices or links to data providers;
• use the service in a way that could harm it or others — probing, overloading, circumventing limits, or accessing accounts or data that aren't yours;
• use Rha for real-time navigation of vehicles, aircraft or vessels, or in any situation where a mapping error could cause injury, death or serious damage. Rha isn't designed for that;
• use Rha to track, profile or target individuals, or in any way that breaks the law.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

3. Maps are approximations

Maps, place information, routes, travel times, analyses and the assistant's answers are estimates built from public data that is incomplete, out of date in places, and sometimes wrong. Roads change, businesses close, boundaries move, and datasets carry their publishers' errors. Always check conditions on the ground and comply with signs, laws and local rules. Actual conditions prevail over the map. The assistant is a model: it can misread data or state something confidently that isn't so. Verify anything you rely on, and treat its output as a starting point, not advice.

4. Data from others

Most of what you see in Rha comes from third parties: the Overture Maps Foundation and OpenStreetMap contributors (map data, places, buildings, roads), the US Census Bureau and other federal, state, county and city agencies (open datasets), transit agencies (GTFS schedules), Esri and other imagery and basemap providers, and web sources the assistant reads with your permission. Each is used under its own licence, shown in the attribution on the map and in each dataset's description, and those licences also apply to you when you export or reuse the data. Rha isn't affiliated with or endorsed by these providers.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you create in Rha — saved maps, drawings, uploaded data, place lists, notes. So that Rha can work, you give us a licence to store, process, display and, when you choose to share, publish that content. Shared maps are visible to anyone with the link. Don't upload content you don't have the right to share, and don't upload personal data about other people unless you have a lawful basis to. You can delete your content and your account at any time.

6. Accounts and payment

You need an account to save maps and use the assistant beyond the free tier. Keep your credentials to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Paid plans renew until cancelled; you can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Prices and limits are shown in the app and can change with notice.

7. The assistant and external sites

When you ask the assistant to research something on the web or in a public records system, it asks your permission before reaching each site, and remembers that permission for the conversation. Those sites have their own terms; by allowing them you agree to comply with them. The assistant doesn't act as you on those sites and doesn't log in anywhere.

8. Changes and availability

We're a small team improving Rha continuously. Features, data and limits change; we may suspend the service for maintenance or withdraw features. We'll give reasonable notice of changes that matter, and we'll tell you before changes to these terms take effect. If you keep using Rha after a change, you accept it.

9. No warranty, limited liability

Rha is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a purpose, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for losses arising from reliance on the maps, data or assistant. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits; where that's the case, they apply as far as permitted.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of San Francisco County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to sue elsewhere.
